Viewers learned solicitor Joel Deering (Calum Lill) was the man responsible for Lauren’s disappearance, having attacked and left her for dead.
Since her return to the cobbles, Lauren has dropped the bombshell to Joel that she is pregnant – and that he is the father.
And now Calum has exclusively revealed to The Sun that fans can expect his character to stoop to even lower.
Speaking at the Radio Times soap awards last week, he said: “There’s not much I can say, other than we’ve seen the length that Joel will go to to protect his way of life.

“I think as the stakes get worse, so will his actions.”
Calum also revealed that Coronation Street fans have abused him for his portrayal of Joel.
He said: “I was really worried that people think I was on the character and give me loads of abuse.
“I get a little bit of abuse, but most people have been really kind and they’re enjoying the storyline which is all I can ask for really.
