Lauren shattered as her baby dies in heartbreaking Coronation Street tragedy?

Lauren Bolton’s (Cait Fitton) life isn’t set to improve anytime soon in Coronation Street

as she now faces an anxious wait to see if her baby will survive after being born early.

A few weeks ago, when Lauren returned to Weatherfield, it was confirmed she was

pregnant with Joel Deering’s (Calum Lill) baby.

This development was absolutely something Joel did not plan. Last September, shortly after they met, Joel started giving Lauren money and expecting sex in return, but thought he had seen the back of her after he attacked her in February. When she arrived at the hospital to see Roy Cropper (David Neilson), Joel confronted her, but Lauren stopped Joel from throwing a punch by revealing her pregnancy.

‘Obviously when you go through any sort of trauma, us as human beings like to put it into the back of our minds and hope it goes away and distract ourselves, but it’s always there it’s never going to go away’, actress Cait Fitton explained to us at the time.

‘With Lauren she thinks putting it behind her and kind of moving on from it, she rushes that process and you can’t rush it. Like grief you cant rush it, just got to go through it as and when it happens.

‘Since she’s left Weatherfield she’s been running from hostel to hostel, sleeping homeless, not been able to pay the rent, booted out of different hostels. Obviously now there’s other precautions she’s got to think about too.’

In the aftermath, Joel’s sole aim has been to get rid of Lauren and the baby. At first, the plan was to save up enough money and move her to Ireland but towards the end of this week, things change again as Lauren experiences stomach pains, falls to the floor and fears she’s losing her child.

Coming up, Lauren is at hospital, terrified as her prematurely born son lies in an incubator.

Her day is interrupted thanks to the arrival of DS Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers), who is ready to ask Lauren questions.

But the big question is – will Lauren and Joel’s baby survive?

Now Lauren is in Weatherfield for the foreseeable, what will Joel do next to ensure his secret isn’t revealed?
