In a shocking turn of events on Coronation Street, Joel Deering’s malevolent scheme against Lauren Bolton has come to light. Joel, desperate to eliminate Lauren, acquired a dangerous batch of labor-inducing pills with the intent of using them to harm her. This dark twist unfolded in a gripping cliffhanger earlier this week.

The full extent of Joel’s plot, which ultimately failed to induce a miscarriage for Lauren, was revealed in the episode that aired on Friday, August 2. During a harrowing scene, Max Turner came to Lauren’s rescue after she was robbed outside the precinct. After the robbery, Joel promised to look after Lauren, feigning concern for her safety. However, his true intentions were soon exposed as he secretly slipped the labor-inducing pills into Lauren’s soup.

After serving Lauren the drug-laced soup and locking her inside her apartment, Joel left under the pretense of buying her new keys and a phone. Soon after, Lauren began experiencing severe pain, signaling the onset of labor. Max, who had followed Lauren, heard her cries and urgently knocked on the door.

Later, Bobby Crawford revealed to Joel that Lauren had been hospitalized due to early labor. Joel, maintaining his cold demeanor, expressed doubt about the baby’s survival. However, when Joel and DT Bailey visited the hospital, they were confronted with the reality that Lauren’s baby was alive and receiving care in a special unit. Joel’s shock was palpable as Max informed him that the situation was still precarious.

Adding to the drama, cast member Chenque Sterling Brown hinted earlier in the week that DD would soon discover Joel’s nefarious actions. She hinted to Digital Spy that Joel is dangerously walking a fine line, engaging in deceitful behavior that could lead to his downfall. As DD is known for her sharp intellect, she’s expected to catch on to Joel’s deceptions soon.

Meanwhile, Jack Webster has faced his own set of troubles on the cobbles. After being suspected of starting a fire at Stepen Brent’s office, Jack’s stepmother, Alby Webster, began to suspect his involvement. In an effort to avoid attention, Jack’s father, Kevin Webster, tried to stay off the radar of detective Lisa Swain. However, Jack eventually turned himself in, and upcoming episodes will see him being interrogated by the police.

Jack, born in 2010, has been involved in numerous significant storylines, from uncovering his paternity to dealing with severe health issues and family turmoil. His mother, Molly Dobbs, was previously married to Tyrone Dobbs, who initially believed Jack was his child. However, Molly’s affair with Kevin Webster revealed Jack’s true parentage. After Molly’s tragic death in the infamous tram crash, Kevin, who had tested Jack’s DNA behind Molly’s back, learned the truth about Jack’s paternity.

On another note, Lucy Fallon’s character, Bethany Platt, is set to embark on a major new storyline. After returning to Coronation Street, Bethany will face a plotline involving cosmetic surgery abroad. The storyline explores the dangers of unregulated procedures and has received mixed reactions from fans. While some are excited for the new plot, others have expressed skepticism and disappointment.

Additionally, Coronation Street star Jack P. Shearer recently shared a delightful update on social media. He posted a photo of himself and his spouse, Silban, enjoying a picturesque dance routine in Spain.
