Emmerdale has made a splash in the Inside Soap Awards race with its cast dazzling in a new photoshoot celebrating their nominations. The cast, including six main stars and Piper the dog, took a break from their hectic filming schedules to participate in this glamorous shoot, which is featured in this week’s issue of Inside Soap.
Digital Spy was on hand for the day, traveling to Leeds with the Inside Soap team to capture behind-the-scenes footage of the cast in action. We interviewed each of the stars, and you won’t want to miss our exclusive video and teaser chats, available at the top of the page.
Eden Taylor-Draper and James Chase were in the spotlight during the shoot. Their characters, Belle and Tom King, are currently involved in a major domestic violence storyline. The shoot offered them a rare opportunity to highlight their off-screen camaraderie as they celebrated their nomination for Best Storyline. Eden is also up for Best Actress, while James is nominated for Best Villain. Their positive energy shone through during the photoshoot.
Not to be overlooked, Piper the dog made a special appearance, ensuring her nomination for Best Pet was celebrated too. Meanwhile, Olivia Bramley and Jay Kontzle, who portray Dawn and Billy Fletcher, also joined the photoshoot. Their characters have faced a harrowing year dealing with baby Eve’s leukemia diagnosis, earning Dawn and Billy a nomination for Best Family.
Lisa Riley, Mandy Dingle, and Beth Cordingly were also part of the shoot, each celebrating their own nominations. Lisa is in the running for Best Comic Performance, while Beth is nominated for both Best Newcomer and Best Villain.
The full interviews and photos from the shoot are featured in the new issue of Inside Soap, which was released today, August 13. Recent weeks have seen photo shoots for nominees from Coronation Street and Hollyoaks, with EastEnders set to complete the lineup in next week’s issue.
