In this episode, we’re diving into a shocking revelation about Ryan Connor and Daisy Midgeley on Coronation Street. After Ryan returned from Scotland, it seemed like a promising future was ahead for him and Daisy. Previously engaged to Daniel Osborne, Daisy’s life took a dark turn when twisted Justin Rutherford attacked her with acid. Ryan, who was trying to protect Daisy, ended up being badly injured in the attack.
The trauma from the incident brought Ryan and Daisy closer together, and their shared experiences eventually blossomed into a passionate relationship. However, Daniel was devastated upon discovering their affair, leading to the end of his relationship with Daisy. Despite this, Ryan’s attempt to start anew with his girlfriend Crystal in Scotland didn’t last long, and he eventually returned to Weatherfield to be with Daisy.
Recently, their relationship has faced new challenges. Police officer Kit Green moved into the Rovers and began flirting with Daisy, which caught Ryan’s attention. However, Ryan’s excitement about Kit’s impressive record collection led him to postpone a date with Daisy to spend time with Kit instead. This decision strained their relationship, and Ryan soon realized his mistake and made efforts to mend things with Daisy. Still, it’s clear that their connection is under strain.
Adding to the tension, Kit considers relocating from the Rovers to a quieter spot in Redbank. Jenny points out that this new location might be the same flat Daisy and Daniel once planned to buy. Ryan notices Daisy’s peculiar reaction to this suggestion and starts to wonder if she still harbors feelings for Daniel. This raises concerns about where that leaves Ryan in their turbulent relationship.
Meanwhile, on Coronation Street, there’s more drama with Amy Barlow’s storyline. Amy has been drawn into a sinister cult called The Institute, thanks to Leanne Battersby’s influence. Leanne, who was captivated by the cult’s leader Rowan Conliff earlier this year, has encouraged Amy to participate in a troubling ritual known as a “malware session.” Amy is initially unaware of what this session entails and is left bewildered by the whole experience.
Ella Mulin, who plays Amy, was stunned by the harshness of the scenes and described filming them as a unique and unsettling experience. She explained that she deliberately avoided putting on the blindfold until the actual take to preserve the authenticity of her discomfort. The rehearsals were already uncomfortable, but the full experience, where Amy stands blindfolded in the center of a circle and is taunted by other cult members, was intense. Ella’s genuine distress during the scene mirrored Amy’s feelings of disorientation and fear.
The disturbing ritual is designed by Rowan to make Amy feel vulnerable and reliant on him, as he aims to break down his followers to rebuild them according to his own vision.
