Once an avid fan of the “90 Day Fiancé” franchise, Statler Riley found herself living the dream when she became a cast member of her favorite reality  TV show. However, her experience filming the show wasn’t what she expected, and her dream quickly turned into a nightmare. Statler was shocked to discover that reality TV wasn’t about real people’s life stories; instead, it was just a greedy corporate TV network exploiting its mentally ill and financially struggling cast members for ratings and maximum profits

As Statler navigated her love journey on the show with her British partner, Dempsey, she realized that many cast members who joined the show ended up worse off than they started, both mentally and financially. The pressures of filming all day for months, the narrative manipulation by producers, and the online hate she’s been receiving from the show’s fans on social media took a significant toll on her well-being. After wrapping up filming for the current season, Statler took to Instagram Live, breaking her non-disclosure agreement (NDA) to expose TLC and their producers for their shady practices. She revealed that the show was heavily scripted and that the producers often coerced cast members into creating drama for the sake of ratings.

Statler also announced her breakup with Dempsey Wilkinson, her British girlfriend. She claimed that Dempsey, whom she referred to as a “British gypsy,” had blocked her on all social media platforms and absconded with their van. Statler is now left making monthly payments for a van she doesn’t legally own. This personal betrayal added to the emotional strain she was already experiencing from her time on the show.

This week, a Reddit user shared a screenshot from one of Statler’s recent Instagram live streams, in which she threatened to sue TLC for the damage the show had done to her personal life. According to the Reddit post, Statler provided few details about the lawsuit, likely because she is still in the process of preparing her case. The post also confirmed that Statler will not participate in the Tell All of the current season of the Other Way, while her former partner Dempsey will be present.
