90 Day Fiancé: What Is Tigerlily Taylor’s Real Name? (Shocking Reason Why She Changed It)

Most new cast members use fake names on the show, leading viewers to believe that Tigerlily Taylor’s name on 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days wasn’t real. Tigerlily is a 41-year-old American woman who’s following her heart to Jordan in season 7. Tigerlily fell for the 22-year-old Adnan Abdelfattah after coming across his profile on social media. She decided to give him a follow, and they spoke nonstop for four months on video call ever since. Tigerlily had been married in the past and had two sons, but she claimed her husband was controlling.

Despite knowing that Adnan follows Islam, Tigerlily made no effort to research his culture. Like most other American women on the show who decided to marry Muslim men, Tigerlily is surely going to regret her decision when Adnan tells her what to wear and how to behave once she becomes his wife. Still, Tigerlily has left her home in Frisco, Texas, to fly to Amman, where she will marry Adnan on the first day they meet. Perhaps, the certified handwriting expert is expecting a comfortable future with Adnan because of all the trauma she’s dealt with in her past.

Tigerlily decided to talk about her life with her Instagram followers after her reality TV debut. She told them to ask her about anything and most of the questions were about Tigerily’s past. When someone asked her if Tigerlily was her “real given name,” she revealed that her legal name was Tigerlily.

She shared a picture of herself as a little baby showing her natural brunette hair. Tigerlily shared that she was born with a Japanese name, Mariko. However, she happened to change it later in her life. She asked her fan if they also wanted to “guess the reason.”

Why Did Tigerlily Get Her Name Changed?

Tigerlily Thought Her Real Name Sounded Like A Slur

Tigerlily had three reasons for changing her name. She said that the name “Mariko” means something derogatory in another language.

According to Tureng , a variation of the name is derogatory slang for a homosexual man in Spanish.

Moreover, Tigerlily said that the “person” who gave her the name had “poisoned, killed, and stole” from someone she deeply cares about. She did not specify who she was referring to. However, she might talk about her tragic past in detail on the show. Tigerlily said she is “all about freedom” and thinks everyone should be able to pick their names.

Tigerlily’s Mother Is Japanese

Tigerlily has revealed that she is half-Japanese when asked about her ethnicity. She said her mom is Japanese and that she is Austrian and Native American on her father’s side. Tigerlily thinks it’s hard to tell what ethnicity she is because of her blonde hair. Tigerlily changed her name and hair because of certain traumatic events in her life. She reminded 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days viewers that “girls change their hair” when life-changing things happen but that they can stay tuned to find out “why” she did it.
