90 Day Fiancé star Yamir Castillo was the first ever musical superstar fans watched on the show when, lately, each season has a singer or a rapper who’s basically signed up for the show to get clout. Yamir was from Nicaragua and was a part of a boy band called Myla Vox. Chelsea couldn’t stop gushing when she introduced her fiancé as a Nicaraguan popstar. Mylah Vox was the first boy band in Nicaragua. However, Yamir quit his band just so he could move to the U.S. with Chelsea. They faced their first relationship obstacle when Yamir came to Galesburg.
Yamir was worried about the future of his singing career in the U.S. and Chelsea’s small town in Illinois didn’t provide him with a lot of opportunities. Yamir wished to move to Chicago, but Chelsea was comfortable where she was. It was believed that their differences over where they would live after their wedding led to Chelsea filing for divorce. However, the reason was rumored to be Chelsea’s sexuality. Chelsea and Yamir returned to the franchise with an episode of 90 Day Bares All in 2021 where the American woman confirmed the rumors were true after all.
Yamir & Chelsea Split Because She Wanted To Date Women
Chelsea Eventually Married A Man The Second Time
Yamir and Chelsea had discussed that she identified as bisexual when they started dating. It was something Yamir knew from the beginning. Meanwhile, Yamir admitted his friends and even his manager suspected Chelsea was queer even before Yamir himself knew about it. Yamir had never been exposed to different sexualities because it was not something that was talked about in his Latin American community.
The divorce helped Chelsea further explore her sexuality. She realized she was pansexual. Chelsea briefly dated a woman after her split with Yamir but is now married to a man named Daniel Colombo Verní since 2021.

Yamir’s Instagram Confirms Where He Lives Now
Yamir posted a Reel with a woman who seemed to be his American girlfriend. Yamir captioned it, “Conociendo a mi suegro americano,” which meant he was meeting his American father-in-law. Yamir and the woman discussed how Yamir was going to communicate with her father. He was worried since he couldn’t speak English and hoped that his girlfriend’s father would be impressed with his “Nicaraguan vibe.” However, it turns out his girlfriend’s father is a fan of Yamir’s and the two go for a drive with Yamir’s song, “Tuani (feat. Don Joaco & Illey Bishop)” playing in the background.
Yamir Is A U.S. Citizen
Yamir Never Went Back To Nicaragua After His Separation
Yamir got his American citizenship in June 2021. Yamir never went back to his country after his divorce but continued making music in the Latin genre with fun music videos. Yamir, who moved to the U.S. in 2014 had been able to stay in America even though he got divorced from Chelsea. He had posted a picture of himself standing in front of a government building holding an American flag and declaring that he was finally a “#USA $citizen.” Yamir is still trying to make it big in the U.S. It remains to be seen where his hard work takes him.
