Home and Away star Matt Evans has shared the story behind his new song ‘Sold’, revealing that the track has a very personal message behind it.

Theo Poulos actor Evans is also a musician, and the star has unveiled his latest song on Instagram alongside an emotional explanation of the story behind it.

Posting a video of himself singing the new song while sitting on a rock in front of a city skyline, the star wrote: “SOLD – a song about meeting someone when your heart wasn’t ready.

“Having commitment issues for me has always been a sign that something isn’t right or more importantly i just don’t feel ready. this is for anyone who feels they haven’t found their somebody yet x”.

The lyrics include the lines “All I wanted was to see you just one more time, I got issues with commitment but I’ll be fine” and “I’m sorry I don’t mean to be so cold, it’s just that my heart wasn’t ready to be sold.”

The star’s new track was met with a positive reception from his followers, with one writing, “Absolutely adore this song, you have a talent and your voice is great. Keep doing what you are doing because you do it so well.”

Evans’ co-star Ada Nicodemou, who plays Theo’s aunt Leah on Home and Away, also praised the music, commenting, “So beautiful Matt, well done”.

The actor spoke about his love life during an interview in 2022, revealing that he doesn’t fall for people “very easily”.

“I do write a lot of love songs, which is funny because I haven’t had many girlfriends and I don’t really fall in love very easily,” he said.

He released his first official single ‘Over It’, which was inspired by a difficult break-up, last year, and revealed that his ex-girlfriend “was cool” about the song being released.

“She knows there is a song about that situation and was cool about it… actually happy about it, which is weird,” he said. “I thought I should let her know.”
