After the mysterious tip, Cash tells Roo and John he’s reached a dead end in his investigation. He tells them the source is legitimate and to let it go, as they have nothing to worry about.
As Cash walks away, however, John and Roo look at each other – they don’t believe a word he says. Something’s going on under their noses.
Meanwhile, Eden and Remi continue to clash over the victim impact statements. Remi’s so stressed out that he suffers a flashback to the moment of his accident. However, Eden stands her ground, insisting that she wants to help Mickey.
Seeing the conflict going nowhere, Cash intervenes and comes to Eden’s support. He tells Remi that ultimately, it’s her story and she has just as much right to tell her story as he does.
With that, Eden records her statement: she’s usually not big on forgiving, but Mickey fought for them and she asks the magistrate to take this into account so he can one day turn his life around. Remi hears this and ultimately has a change of heart: if that’s what Eden believes, he’s not going to stand in her way.
Elsewhere, Mackenzie and Levi confide in each other following Levi’s unusual outburst about losing Eden. Mackenzie admits that, unlike Levi, she never really forgave her own dad for being repeatedly unfaithful to her mum.
Levi has a different perspective: the world is difficult enough, so he wanted to try to show some kindness towards his dad for making mistakes. However, he’s starting to see the pain his dad caused; ultimately, he still has a responsibility to the people he loves. Despite these confessions, the pair are still conflicted about keeping their relationship a secret.
Later on at work, Mackenzie texts Levi saying that she misses him already. This is met with a cold “Please don’t text me when I’m with my wife”. Mackenzie, stung, is at a loss with what to do.
