It’s all change for Coronation Street’s Tracy Barlow, played by actress Kate Ford, as she’s decided to up sticks – but will she have second thoughts about leaving the cobbles?

Tracy Barlow has been a staple on Coronation Street for decades – but is this the last viewers will see of her?

The fiery character burst onto screens all the way back in 1977, and since 2002, iconic Tracy has been played by actress Kate Ford. She’s had some impressive storylines over the past two decades, which has helped secure her reputation as one of the ITV soap’s biggest villains – from the time she pretended she had slept with poor Roy Cropper to when she attempted to sell off her own daughter Amy.

She’s had a more than complicated love story with Amy’s dad Steve McDonald and is now set to abandon the pair as she jet sets to Spain to follow her lover Tommy Orpington – Steve’s footballing hero. In shock scenes aired last night, the fiery character made the final decision that she wanted to leave the cobbles, however fans have spotted a ‘huge flaw’ in her escapade.

At the start of the episode, she got back together with Steve McDonald. But she later learned that Steve had burned the note that Tommy had left for her telling her about the move to Spain and decided that she was going to follow her lover and leave Steve for good.

Fans were surprised to see Tracy heading off into the sunset with Tommy, but have we really seen the last of her? Spoilers have confirmed that Tracy will appear in Tuesday night’s episode – which has moved from its usual Wednesday slot – when Ken decides he wants to plan a farewell gathering for Tracy.

She arrives at the house for her things and tells Ken, Amy and Daniel that she will miss them as she makes her plans to move to be with Tommy in Spain. When Ken suggests they head to the Rovers for one last drink, the three of them toast to Tracy’ new start. Steve, who is sat nearby is clearly struggling as he hides in his newspaper, leaving Amy feeling concerned for him.

There has been no official comment from actress Kate Ford about her sudden exit, and it hasn’t been confirmed whether Tracy will return any time soon. At the same time, her exit for now hasn’t been sold as a permanent change for the soap.

The much-loved character is not mentioned in any of the spoilers for the rest of the week, but will she have a last-minute change of heart? Viewers have been left stunned by Tracy’s bombshell and have been questioning whether the character will actually leave.
