Coronation Street spoilers follow.
Coronation Street has confirmed a fresh start for Ed Bailey after his wife Aggie revealed she had no intention of returning to Weatherfield.
Aggie has been in Birmingham for the past few months while caring for a sick relative, which has coincided with Ed’s worsening gambling addiction.
Ed went to visit Aggie in the Midlands in Wednesday’s (April 3) scenes, but was given his marching orders as she confirmed that she would be staying put, leaving Ed crestfallen as he returned to Weatherfield.

Next week’s scenes will begin with Ed receiving a letter in the post, which contains details of his insurance pay-out following the fire in his yard.
He is pleasantly surprised to discover that he is receiving more money than initially expected from the pay-out, and quickly begins thinking about what he will do with the lump sum.
He informs Dee-Dee and Michael that he will put the money towards some new tools, but they both advise him to settle some of the debts that he has accrued whilst gambling.
Later in the week, things begin looking up for Ed as he is offered a job by Debbie, with duties including being a handyman at the Chariot Square Hotel.
