Coronation Street bosses have teased an exit is on the cards for Roy Cropper next week on the ITV soap when he’s charged for Lauren Bolton’s murder – with all the evidence stacking up against them
Coronation Street icon Roy Cropper will be charged with Lauren Bolton’s murder next week.
Roy – played by Corrie icon David Neilson – was arrested a few weeks back for the murder of Lauren Bolton, but the whole of Weatherfield have been working to free him from the allegations.
However, in a shocking turn of events next week, Roy will be dealt a devastating blow as he finds out he has been charged with murder. Roy has always been under the suspicion of DS Swain, who is adamant he killed Lauren.
Things had been stacking against him, after he cleaned Lauren’s flat following her disappearance and was later seen taking bin bags and spades to the bat roost site. He has also faced an onslaught of ‘social media sleuths’, who are adamant Roy’s behaviour has proved he is responsible for Lauren’s disappearance and death – which of course, he isn’t.
Dee Dee later returns to Roys Rolls on her own, where she confirms to those there that Roy has been charged with Lauren’s murder and is being held in police custody. It’s clear Roy is struggling with the last few hours, and as he sits alone in a police cell, dreading his court hearing, fans will no doubt fear this will lead to a heartbreaking exit for Roy.
Are Roy’s friends and family able to find out what really happened to Lauren – or is he at risk of being incarcerated forever?
