Melissa George once famously declared she’d rather ‘be having a croissant in Paris’ than speak about Home and Away, the Australian TV show that made her famous.
But the actress, 47, returned to her hometown of Perth this week, with George sharing several Instagram posts from the Western Australian capital city on Thursday.
The first showed a beach, captioned with the words, ‘Winter in Perth… no place like home,’ which was completed with a heart emoji.
She then shared a series of images and videos from a sheep farm in the aftermath of a shearing session.
The Amityville Horror star also shared an image of herself standing in pristine white pants, along with the tongue-in-cheek caption ‘I clearly didn’t do any of the shearing’.
One video also showed Melissa patting a sheep dog, while admitting her attire was ‘so impractical’.
The former soap star now calls Paris home, often sharing social media posts chronicling her life in the French capital.
Melissa famously became frustrated in 2012 during an interview on Channel Seven’s The Morning Show when hosts Larry Emdur and Kylie Gillies focused too much on her role as Angel in Home and Away.
‘I love this city [Sydney] so much. And I want to come home a lot but the stress that this has created in me is not worthy of my health,’ she said after the interview, according to the Herald Sun.
‘I think it will be the last time I visit and work here for a while, to be honest, because I just get too upset coming home,’ she continued.
‘I don’t need credibility from my country anymore, I just need them all to be quiet. If they have nothing intelligent to say, please don’t speak to me anymore.’
She then uttered a statement that would go on to haunt her for the next decade.
‘I’d rather be having a croissant and a little espresso in Paris or walking my French bulldog in New York City.’
