Coronation Street‘s Liam McCheyne has shared a sweet birthday tribute to co-star Luca Toolan.
While McCheyne’s character Liam Connor recently endured months of relentless bullying at the hands of Toolan’s Mason Radcliffe as part of an issue-based storyline for the soap, it’s (thankfully) a very different story off-screen as the two actors are actually close friends.
To commemorate Toolan’s 20th birthday, McCheyne took to Instagram to share a behind-the-scenes photo of the pair together on set, along with a heartwarming message.

“Wishing a very happy birthday to my best mate @lucatoolan. As soon as we met back in July, we’ve just got on like a house on fire,” he wrote.
“Since being on the show he has absolutely smashed it, and it’s been a pleasure to share a bit of that with you. Hope you have a great day, pal. Here’s to another year of fun and hard work!”
Among the floods of birthday messages from fans in the post’s comment section, Toolan replied: “You’re a rare kind Liam”.
