Luca Toolan has quickly established himself as a star on Coronation Street.
The actor joined the cast as Mason Radcliffe last year and has been a key part in one of the show’s major storylines. The villainous character has bullied Dylan Wilson and Liam Connor and made both their lives a misery on the Cobbles.
Luca appeared on This Morning to discuss the show and admitted it is challenging to play a role in such a difficult storyline that addresses a huge societal issue in knife crime. He said: “I can watch myself but I don’t like to, not for reasons you’d expect like the self conscious actor.
“It’s because I usually watch it with my family or my grandma and they’re looking at me like, ‘Who is this? Am I sitting next to an animal? Because it is me doing these horrible things on the screen.”
Although Mason has made Dylan and Liam’s life hell on the screen, the reality couldn’t be more different. Dylan is played by Liam Mccheyne and Charlie Wrenshall plays Liam Connor.
Luca, Liam and Charlie are close friends in real life and regularly share updates together on Instagram. It was a big week for Luca as he turned 20 and Liam sent a heartfelt message to mark the occasion.
Luca hails from a famous family as his dad is Mike Toolan, who hosts a show on Hits Radio. Luca shared a snap alongside his dad as he commemorated his 20th birthday.
He said: “Twenneh. Thanks God for an incredible year.”
