Coronation Street character Gemma Winter’s dramatic downfall has been sealed.
The character will attempt to steal a pair of shoes from a shop for one of her children in an upcoming scene that was filmed on location this week. Cast member Dolly-Rose Campbell, 36 – who has played Gemma for almost a decade – was seen filming scenes for the ITV soap opera in Manchester on Tuesday. The actor was spotted at a retailer as part of the production.
It’s been revealed that Gemma will take one of her children shopping for a new pair of shoes. The character has four children with her husband Chesney Brown (played by Sam Aston). They are parents to quadruplets Aled, Bryn, Llio and Carys. Their family also includes Chesney’s son Joseph.
Whilst out shopping with one of her kids, Gemma is said to not be able to afford the pair of shoes that her daughter wants. She’s said to later head back into the shop and attempt to steal the shoes before rushing out of the door. It’s been teased that Gemma however runs down the street into the arms of a security guard following the incident.
Photos from the filming of the scenes have been obtained by the Mirror this week. The photos show Gemma and her daughter, believed to be Carys, sitting inside a store as they shop for shoes. They are seen beside a staff member in one photo, who appears to be providing them with assistance.
There is also a photo of Gemma and her daughter leaving the store together. The pair are seen holding hands as they depart the retailer in the city, with the parent looking back into the shop as the two characters head out together.
Long-running character Gemma is seen wearing a multicoloured jacket, a pink cropped hoodie, a pale blue top and a pair of patterned trousers. She also sports a pair of hooped earrings and orange trainers. The character’s daughter is instead pictured in a yellow hoodie, a cream cardigan, a multicoloured coat, grey trousers and white shoes.
Another photo shows Gemma holding a pair of shoes whilst standing inside the store, seemingly by herself, at one point. The white shoes that are in her hands feature floral detailing on the front and silver buckles, with them matching the pair that her daughter was wearing when they left the shop.
