Coronation Street star Claire Sweeney has been flooded with message after she shared a cryptic post on social media. Fans currently know the actress for being busy playing Cassie Plummer in the ITV soap.
Claire made her debut on the cobbles back in June 2023 after her casting was revealed a year ago in April 2023. Viewers saw Cassie for the first time after she tracked down her mum to the street before discovering she was living with her son, Tyrone Dobbs, all along with the mechanic thinking his biological mother was dead.
And the soap star, 53, has recently revealed she has signed to spend another year in Weatherfield. The former Brookside star told Cheshire Life Magazine: “I’ve just signed my contract for another year in Corrie and I’m really happy to fully invest all my time and energy into Cassie and see what develops.
“I couldn’t be happier about the acting scenes I have done recently in Coronation Street with Dame Maureen Lipman in the Rovers, and with Alan Halsall and Jennie McAlpine in the Dobbs household.”
Meanwhile, on social media, Claire took a break from sharing her glamourous snaps and sweet family posts with her son, Jaxon, and her mum, Kathleen, as she shared a post addressing appearance. While she didn’t write a caption, the post featured a quote which read: “I’d rather eat pizza and drink wine than be a size 0,” which was credited to the international film star Sophia Loren.
Coronation Street co-star Sally Carman-Duttine and reality star Gemma Collins were among the first to respond, simply sharing the raising hands emojis in the comments section. Presenter Trisha Goddard also replied: “Innit?” alongside a red heart emoji.
Meanwhile, Claire’s fans and followers were also quick to reply to her post. @opportunities_in_life said: “I’ll drink to that!” @nataliacelino commented: “I will be right by your side munching on the pizza haha…” @grovergoodall wrote: “Abso-bloody-lutely.” @nancyhovhanesian replied: “I love the quote. It comes after the former Brookside star and boxer Ricky “Hitman” Hatton stepped out on the red carpet together for the first time. The pair met while taking part in Dancing on Ice earlier this year and have been spotted on a series of pub dates in recent weeks.
Towards the end of last month, they took the next step, going public with their romance at the big opening night of the £365m Co-op Live Arena. They both posted photos on their Instagram accounts after posing together at the press boards for celebs and VIPs at the new arena.
