Corrie fans have said they’re “obsessed” with a new storyline as they predict one the downfall of one longstanding Weatherfield resident.
Monday’s episode saw Gary Windass get close to his ex Sarah Platt. Gary watched with concern as Sarah knocked back wine in the Rovers and when Gary spotted Sarah going to get another bottle before heading home, he followed her.
Gary joined his ex for a drink and they began chatting. While this was happening, Gary’s stepson Liam Connor took some pills and ended up in hospital.
Maria Connor rushed to be at her son’s side and when she returned home, she noticed Gary and Sarah acting suspiciously. She later caught them together on CCTV in her flat.
Maria watched as Sarah apologised to Gary for “trying to kiss him” and the two hugged each other before agreeing they’d keep their distance. And as they left the block of apartments, Maria was waiting for them, with the CCTV on her phone in front of them.
Sarah tried to explain herself but Maria told her to get lost, before kicking Gary out. Fans at home were quick to react to the scenes. On X, formerly Twitter, Sal said: “Old Maria is back and I am obsessed already”.
Ryan said: “Sarah loves messing with other people’s lives doesn’t she? Karma’s gonna get her”. Mark said: “Maria is going to annihilate Sarah isn’t she?”
