Coronation Street’s Samia Longchambon shares 20-year throwback and fans all say same thing

Coronation Street fans are all saying the same thing after actress Samia Longchambon shared a throwback photo from 20 years ago. The actress, who is best known for playing Maria Windass in the ITV soap, marked the recent BAFTA Awards by looking back at one of her earlier appearances.

This year marks 24 years since Samia first stepped foot on the cobbles. She was first seen working in the kennels belonging to her father, Eric, and since then, she has been involved in some of the soap’s biggest storylines. There have been plenty of failed relationships for Maria, including with Tyrone, Jason Grimshaw, and Luke Britton.

But there have also been heartbreaking scenes when she delivered a stillborn baby boy, the son of Liam Connor, and when Liam was later killed in a hit-and-run organised by Tony Gordon. Most recently, her son, Liam Connor Jnr, considered taking his own life after being badly bullied both at school and online.

Away from her character, Samia is regularly active on social media. She recently shared a throwback snap, which saw the long-running Corrie star on the BAFTAs red carpet back in 2004. She could be seen wearing a gorgeous black dress embellished with sparkles along the neckline as her pal Leigh Francis, best known as Keith Lemon, stood with his arm around her.

Sharing the photo with her 447,000 followers Samia wrote: “Massive #throwback from the #baftas in 2004. My lovely friend @leighfrancis posted it but I think it needs a place on my grid too.. crazy to think this was 20 years ago, life really does go by soooo fast!”.

And fans and friends of the actress were all in agreement as they took to the comments section to say that she hasn’t ‘aged one bit’ in the last 20 years. @realjanedanson wrote: “Still exactly the same,” as @wiccashell said: “Wow! I love looking at old flashback photos! You really haven’t changed much at all.”

@realangelalonsdale said: “I remember that dress ! We all wore black ! You haven’t changed little sis x,” as @barkleyandfetch agreed: “Wow! You haven’t aged at all. you look amazing,” and @ianedmonds05 added: “Beautiful then, beautiful now.”

@ian.bowers.75 also complimented Samia saying: “You are aging backwards Samia,” as fellow Corrie actress Tina O’Brien added: “You look exactly the same, awwwwwww you guys.”

Another fan also said: “You never age! You look like you could be Liam’s sister rather than his mum. We need to know your skincare regime because you look amazing, now and always.”
