ITV Coronation Street ‘work out’ who Demi is linked to – but it’s not Tommy or Rowan

Coronation Street fans are convinced newcomer Demi is linked to an existing character on the ITV soap amid her romance with Steve McDonald, after some suspicious behaviour

Coronation Street fans think they know who newcomer Demi is linked to on the ITV soap, and it’s not who you think.

Steve McDonald’s new love interest sparked suspicion with viewers as to whether she is hiding her real identity in recent episodes. Fans were convinced she gave away she was linked to another character, and might even be targeting Steve.

The romance came as Steve shared his heartbreak over his split with wife Tracy McDonald. Tracy had cheated on Steve with his football idol Tommy Orpington, and she left the street to live with him abroad.

Initially, fans were convinced she was an ex of Tommy as she seemed interested in what Steve had to say about the footballer. But then a scene with Toyah Battersby left other viewers wondering if she was linked to new baddie Rowan Cunliffe and his cult.

She was seen seemingly avoiding Toyah who Rowan has clashed with, after Rowan fooled her sister Leanne Battersby into becoming part of his ‘wellbeing institute’. Toyah has tried to get Leanne to see Rowan is a fraud, and fans have wondered if Demi is helping him and could be targeting Steve. But now it seems a brand new theory or two has been shared that could change everything. Many viewers don’t think it’s Tommy or Rowan that Demi could be linked to, amid two other big storylines on the show.

The suggestion is that Demi could be linked to missing Lauren who is feared dead, or may even be her mother. Another theory is that Demi will turn out to be the adoptive mother of Christopher Green AKA Kit, the long-lost son of Bernie Winter who has just joined the show.

One viewer posted: “Let me guess. She’s Lauren’s long lost mum. Or Bernie’s long lost son’s adoptive mum.” While these theories seem a bit out there, it is soap land after all and we put nothing past Corrie!

So will Steve find out his new lover is in fact a fraud and out to get him, or could she be someone linked to the street prior to her arrival? Viewers will just have to wait and see!
