Emmerdale viewers reckoned they’d spotted a major blunder during Ethan Anderson’s hit and run horror as his car crash attacker was unveiled.
Things started off rather chaotic on Wednesday night (May 22) when Ethan was seen laying lifeless in the middle of a quiet road. Covered in blood while looking directly at the vehicle that mowed him down, it was clear that Ethan was in desperate need of medical attention.
But a few minutes later a bloodied Ethan was seen stumbling into the Emmerdale village fete, causing alarm amongst his fellow residents and his dad Charles who rushed over to assist him. With GP Manpreet on hand to assist Ethan, the budding young lawyer insisted he was fine.
However fans were left confused with how Ethan managed to walk back to the fete despite his serious injuries. Heading over to X formerly known as Twitter, viewers shared their thoughts on the dramatic scenes.
One social media user said: “So he’s injured in the road badly not moving but then manages to get up and walk back to the village?? Maybe he’s infected with zombie virus and it will spread now? This new storyline? Actually could be exciting village event twist
Another penned: “It’s a miracle Ethan’s walking back while half dead. Almost as good as Chloe’s survival of a car crash.”
A third wrote: “Ethan done well to walk back to the village from the middle of a country lane in the middle of nowhere. Fair play.”
Fans tried to work out who the mystery person was who ran Ethan over as the episode continued. As some suspected Cain or Caleb, many also thought Suni could have been behind the wheel.
But we soon discovered that it was in fact Caleb’s estranged wife Ruby who ran Ethan over. Ruby was desperate for Ethan to get a taste of his own medicine after Ethan accidentally crashed into a tree while driving with Ruby’s son Nicky in the passenger seat.
After the car crash which happened earlier this month, Ethan ran away from the scene in a panic leaving Nicky unconscious. Nicky still hasn’t recovered from his injuries and his fighting for his life in hospital.
