Coronation Street fans are placing bets on what’s next for Toyah Habeeb as she finally gave into Rowan Cunliffe’s wishes. The character has been going up against the Institute as she fears for her sister Leanne Battersby’s involvement with mentor Rowan and the group.

But her bad-mouthing of the Institute and her lack of support for Leanne’s decision to be involved has triggered an enemy in Rowan, who has been determined to shut her down by getting her to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement [NDA] after taking her to court.

Rowan has been able to ramp up the pressure on Toyah after Leanne told him about the baby she tragically gave birth to stillborn when she was 19, and then buried in the woods. The police have since discovered Rose’s remains and in another twist of the knife, it was Rowan who paid for the baby’s funeral after Leanne lied about using her savings to pay.

Then, in scenes aired this week, the blackmail was ramped up as the guy Rowan had instructed to follow Toyah hit the jackpot when he caught her kissing Leanne’s partner Nick Tilsley through their flat window. It wasn’t the first time the pair had shared a kiss but this time things went much further as they slept together.

During Wednesday night’s (June 19) Corrie, Toyah was seen telling Nick that they had little choice but to come clean to Leanne about their brief affair. Later, a smug Rowan was holding a meeting in the Bistro much to Nick and Toyah’s dismay, and it gave him another opportunity to corners Toyah and hands her a copy of the NDA, suggesting she signs it.

When Toyah made it clear she wouldn’t be blackmailed and that she intended to come clean, Rowan pointed out that it’ll destroy Leanne but he’ll be happy to pick up the pieces as the Institute are her family now. His words clearly struck a sickened Toyah as she later signed the NDA, after it was revealed Leanne was now a mentor for the group.

But Corrie fans can’t help but think this isn’t the end of Toyah’s problems, as they still think she could became pregnant following her and Nick’s one-night-stand, despite her previously being told that her chances of becoming pregnant and carrying a child to fill terms was ‘so slim’.
