A Coronation Street resident has been left feeling the full force of the law.
Gemma Winter – played by Dolly-Rose Campbell – will find herself arrested next week on the Weatherfield cobbles. Carys needs new shoes and the family have been struggling with money – but things go from bad to worse when she gets a £70 parking fine in the post.
She takes Carys to get her feet measured at the shoe shop, but the £45 shoes are too much for the family to spend. When the shop assistant is distracted, Gemma runs out with Carys – leaving without paying for the shoes. When she gets home and Bernie sees them, will she get the truth about how Gemma managed to obtain them?
The gap between Chesney’s family life and that of Joseph’s school mates is made even worse next week when one of the dads arrives to collect his son from the street, where Chesney is serving them all up kebabs.
Later in the week, Gemma is arrested for stealing the shoes and Kit is surprised to see her there. Bernie begs Kit to help the family to secure Gemma’s release. Can he manage to convince the shopkeeper to drop the charges? Gemma is puzzled, unsure why Kit wants to help her and she soon introduces him to Chesney and the kids. However, he is left distracted by a shocking call from his dad.
Gemma has been at the centre of some big storylines, with one of her and Chesney’s quads being born dead. Dolly-Rose has been learning British Sign Language herself for a very heartfelt reason.
