Emmerdale viewers were finding it quite difficult to see the action during the latest episode, as Tom King made a chilling suggestion to Belle.
On Friday’s visit to the Dales, (June 21) emotions were running high as Belle told her husband Tom that she had a miscarriage. But viewers are fully aware that Belle actually had a medical abortion.
Breaking the news to Tom, it was clear he was shocked and distraught with the news. Trying to make sense of the situation, Tom questioned why Belle didn’t call him sooner.
But as things intensified, some viewers couldn’t help but wonder why the scene was so dark, even though it was day time. Taking to X, fans shared their opinions.
One social media user said: “Why is the lighting so bad! Every scene is in the dark.”
Another penned: “What’s going on with the lighting in this ep? Did someone forget to put 50p in the metre?”
A third chimed: “Very dark in Belle’s house.” While a fourth added: “What’s with the scenes in tonight’s episode? It goes light then dark did someone forget to pay the electric bills.”
Later on in the show, viewers saw Tom trying to work out what went wrong. Talking to Belle, he then suggested that perhaps they could try for another baby.
But Belle quickly shut the suggestion down, insisting she’s not ready. But viewers were also left appalled by Tom’s remark and headed straight back to social media to complain.
One fan said: “So *to his knowledge* Belle & Belle’s body has gone through this trauma, and he hasn’t consoled her, BUT he is already suggesting they try again???????? Like she is a baby machine.”
Another echoed: “Shut up Tom! It’s not about you and if you weren’t such a bullying control freak poor Belle wouldn’t have had to have an abortion & lie about it.”
A third added: “Fgs she’s only just lost the baby and he’s on at her to get pregnant again. Contact your mental health team Belle, tell them.” A fourth also added: “Tom is literally doing what Mack did with Charity when she lost their baby (I know technically Belle didn’t lose it but still…) … wanting to try again right away.”
