Coronation Street will air a new threat for villain Joel Deering next week on the ITV soap, as a mystery character leaves him panicked.

In a scene to air next week, Joel is enjoying a family dinner at the bistro when a mystery girl walks in looking for him. Joel is visibly alarmed by her appearance, and races over to speak with her

This is noticed by his fiancée Dee-Dee Bailey, with Joel asking the girl what she’s doing there. The girl doesn’t say anything, but it’s clear Joel is rattled.

So what does she want from him, and how exactly do they know each other? Viewers first met the teenager in question on Friday night, as she debuted as a friend of fellow teen Sabrina.

The girl was meeting Sabrina outside the police station, and clocked a weird moment between Sabrina and Joel. We did not find out who she was or what her name was, with her name not in the credits either.

Sabrina returned to Weatherfield during the episode, after her brother had been arrested. Joel began offering his services to her claiming he wanted to help her out, suggesting there were other ways to pay for solicitor fees.

While he listed suggestions including monthly payments, it was clear he was planning on getting close to Sabrina and using her brother’s arrest to try and get her to trust him. Sabrina turned down his offer of help, but Joel then gave her his personal mobile number as well as his work number. He told her it may come in handy, and after Sabrina left he pulled a face that suggested he was targeting her. But does Sabrina need to watch her back, and might she be next? If he is her next target, might he end up exposing his lies given Sabrina’s link to his murder victim Lauren? As for the identity of the new girl, that remains to be seen. It seems we will find out more about her in the coming weeks, but could she also be at risk of danger?
