Coronation Street star Cait Fitton dazzled among her castmates as she put on a delicate glittering display as she headed out with a number of her former co-stars. Fans of the ITV soap will be pleased to see the actress considering she was last seen on-screen back in February.
As Corrie viewers know, her character, Lauren Bolton, was last seen on the cobbles on February 23 after being sacked from her job at Roy’s Rolls by Roy Cropper. The café owner later visited her with her wages and some extra cash to tide her over and his kindness was later taken as evidence that he was to blame for Lauren going missing – and her death.
However, weeks later and after a number of episodes shown the same day from different characters’ perspectives during a dramatic week in May, Roy was rightfully released from prison and the truth was finally revealed – but only to those watching at home – as they discovered solicitor Joel Deering, played by Calum Lill, was behind her disappearance and suspected murder.
The residents of Weatherfield are still none the wiser that Joel was Lauren’s ‘secret boyfriend’ who had showered her with expensive gifts but also left her shockingly bruised before hitting her repeatedly over the head with a wooden chair leg, with what happened next still unclear.
While the storyline still continues on-screen, Cait looked sensational as she sported a glittering halterneck black dress as she posed on the pink carpet as Burlesque the Musical held its star-studded gala night at the Manchester Opera House on Tuesday night (June 25).
She was also reunited with plenty of her Corrie pals with Joel actor Calum, Channique Sterling-Brown, who plays Dee-Dee Bailey, and Daisy Midgeley actress Charlotte Jordan to see the the “glamorous, gritty and outrageously fun new musical based on the much-loved hit movie” starring stars Jess Folley as Ali Rose, Todrick Hall as Sean, Jackie Burns as Tess, George Maguire as Vince, Michael Mather as Jackson and Nina Ann Nelson as Nikki.
But it wasn’t just the soap stars out in force as Doctor Who showrunner Russell T Davies, actor John Thomson, drag queen Divina De Campo and model Rhian Sugden were also in attendance.
