Child star Luke Tittensor unrecognisable 15 years on from Emmerdale role

Former Emmerdale star Luke Tittensor looks worlds away from his Daz Eden role as he stepped out on the red carpet to promote his new project.

Luke, 34, is appearing in Game of Thrones spin-off House of the Dragon alongside twin brother Elliott. Wearing matching outfits and armed with hipster style beards and their long hair swept into a top knot, the lads looked completely different from what we’re used to!

The pair originated the role of Carl Gallagher in Channel 4 comedy drama Shameless.

The first series was recorded a year earlier than broadcast, and by the time the second series went into production, Luke couldn’t continue as he’d joined Emmerdale, as Andy Sugden’s (Kelvin Fletcher) half-brother Daz in late 2003.

He continued in the part for the next six years, starring in over 500 episodes, before Daz left the village for pastures new when his love for adoptive sister Victoria (Isabel Hodgins) was revealed.

The off-screen reason for his departure was as a result of a charge for grievous bodily harm brought against him. The incident occurred in Rochdale, Greater Manchester, in February 2008 and he was convinced the following year.

Luke was handed a nine-month suspended sentence for the assault and was ordered to complete 200 hours of unpaid work. Since then, we’ve seen him make guest roles in Doctors and Waterloo Road, as well as on the big screen in Pudsey the Dog: The Movie, which was based on the pooch that won Britain’s Got Talent.

HBO’s hugely popular House of the Dragon began in 2022, with a second series kicking off this Sunday (June 16th).

Luke plays knight Ser Arryk Cargyll, whilst Elliott co-stars as brother Ser Erryk Cargyll.

The series stars Matt Smith and Emma D’Arcy in key roles, with the new instalments picking up after the dramatic finale that saw characters reeling and vengeful after a shock death.
