Coleen Rooney admits she never expected THAT Wagatha Christie tweet to go viral and reveals she finally has closure as she leads stars at International Women’s Day event in Manchester

Coleen Rooney has revealed she never expected her famous Tweet that sparked the Wagatha Christie trial to gain the attention it received.

The WAG, 37, won her case against former pal Rebekah Vardy in May 2022 – and has since opened up about the trial in a documentary and autobiography.

And during a Q&A for International Women’s Day in Manchester on Friday, Coleen confessed how she really felt as she posted on the ‘It’s….Rebekah Vardy’s account’ tweet.

She explained: ‘I put it out there and being in the public eye I thought it would get some attention, but not as much as it did!’

Speaking about why she decided to do the documentary she said: ‘Everyone else had their say and opinion and thought they knew what was going on.

‘But they didn’t. It was my story to tell and and I thought was my time to say how it was and put it to bed.’

Asked whether she has closure now, Coleen replied: ‘I feel closure now. I did the day we stepped out of court.’

Attending the event hosted by Julie Perry at Harvey Nichols, Coleen made sure to showcase her stylish assets as she gave a nod to the day by sporting a stunning pink two-piece comprising a double-breasted suit and wide-leg trousers.

She was joined at the bash by her beloved mother Colette, while other attendees included Emmerdale‘s Sheree Murphy and RHOCH’s Seema Malhotra.

Sheree, who is married to footballer Harry Kewell, looked sensational in an all-black ensemble, as she attended the event which she was hosting and planned by Julie – who also arranged Coleen’s 2008 wedding to husband Wayne.

Discussing the event, Julie said: ‘I am so pleased to be able to bring so many inspirational women together in celebration of each other…

‘It is so important to me to champion other women and their careers, and I hope our guests today have felt inspired and uplifted by our guest speakers.

‘I’d like to thank Coleen and Nermina for sharing their stories, and a huge thanks to everyone who supported today’s event. A special thank you to my team for the fantastic work they do throughout the year.’
