Caryn, and she happily accepted after dating for six years. However, not much is known about Caryn’s life before she appeared on the show and met Matt. Caryn was previously married to Joseph Chandler for almost 20 years before he filed for divorce in 2012.

According to Radar Online, Joseph has an extensive criminal history, including arrests for driving under the influence and assault. His most recent arrest occurred on January 31, 2018, when he unlawfully drove a vehicle on a public highway while under the influence of alcohol. Joseph was sentenced to 45 days in jail, had his driver’s license revoked for one year, and was sentenced to two years on probation. Additionally, he was ordered to complete a Victim Impact Panel and pay $1,855 in fees.

Before his 2018 arrest, Joseph was arrested in 2013 for driving with a suspended license. After pleading guilty, he was placed in the Washington County Community Corrections in Oregon for three years. His license had been suspended after a 2009 incident where he drove under the influence and caused injuries to several people. Joseph was charged with eight counts, including assault, DUI, and a felony charge of failure to perform duties of a driver involving serious physical injury.

Caryn and Joseph shared two children, Britany and Connor. Caryn, affectionately called “Cha Cha” by Matt’s grandkids, became a grandmother for the first time in 2021 when Connor and his girlfriend Ashley welcomed a son, Liam. Caryn began dating Matt in 2015 after his split from Amy Roloff, with their divorce finalized in 2016. Caryn once worked as a manager at Roloff Farms, overseeing pumpkin season.

Many viewers have accused Matt and Caryn of having an extramarital affair while Matt was still married to Amy, claiming their relationship was more than business. Amy addressed these rumors in her memoir, A Little Me, alleging that Matt and Caryn shared inappropriate messages and pictures. Amy also mentioned during a Facebook live video that there was more than just friendship between them.
