Coronation Street spoilers follow.
Coronation Street has brought in Holyoak’s actress Gemma Merna for a brief guest stint in Adam Barlow’s ongoing storyline.
Lawyer Adam has been playing the field ever since his marriage to Sarah broke down – in upcoming scenes, he’ll set his sights on client Rebecca, played by Merna.
But while he might enjoy getting flirty and dirty while on the job, one of his co-workers is less impressed with him mixing business and pleasure.

Inside Soap first reported the casting, and Digital Spy understands that it is indeed just a small appearance in an episode, and it isn’t expected to be a recurring role.
Reacting to the announcement on her Instagram, Merna shared a photo of herself outside the Rovers and wrote that: “The news is out. I’ve been keeping a little secret. I am thrilled to announce that I’ve landed my dream job on @coronationstreet!
“Can you believe it?! I’ve wanted to be on Coronation Street since I was a little girl. Being born and bred in Manchester, it’s truly a dream come true for me.
“It’s been on my vision board for over 10 years, and finally, I got the chance to walk the cobbles. I can’t even believe I’m writing this. I think the best part was ringing my mum and telling her.
“To my dad, nana, grandad, and grandma, who all watched it for many years, and were huge fans. I hope you’re proud of me up there. Rebecca will be gracing your screens in the next coming weeks.”
