Coronation Street ‘confirms’ major death twist for Kit and Craig

Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) spent the day with Craig Tinker (Colson Smith) in Monday’s (July 15) episode of Coronation Street with one goal – get him drunk.

Kit is Bernie’s (Jane Hazlegrove) long-lost son. He arrived a few weeks ago and was also introduced as a police officer helping DS Swain (Vicky Myers) in Lauren Bolton’s (Cait Fitton) murder case.

Amid all of this, Kit was also getting to know Paul (Peter Ash) and Gemma (Dolly-Rose Campbell) – his new siblings. At first, he watched them from a distance by helping Paul and Billy (Daniel Brocklebank) at the hospital carpark, and assisting Gemma when she got arrested for stealing some shoes.

Eventually, Kit confronted Gemma and Paul and confirmed their connection, but he did it in a way that made Bernie look like a bad person.

These tense scenes were enough for us to learn Kit is very good at manipulation. In tonight’s episode of the ITV soap, he used this to his advantage once more to try and learn more about his colleague Craig.

After Kirk (Andy Whyment) told Kit that Craig is a good police officer and an incredibly honest man, he found him on the street. Luring Craig in by mentioning the opportunity of working in CID again, Kit told him they’d spending time doing some digging on the nurse who said Lauren had returned and afterwards, they’ll have a few pints as a job well done.

In the pub, Kit took great pleasure in buying pint after pint for Craig. The more he drank, the more honest he became and eventually, topic of conversation turned to bent coppers and bending the rules.

Curious, Kit stayed quiet when Craig mentioned previously helping a loved one out who had landed into trouble. Determined to discover his secret, Kit got very close to the truth, but Craig then said he’d take that information with him to the grave.

The secret Craig is alluding comes from an ordeal in 2022. When Faye (Ellie Leach) and Emma (Alexandra Mardell) were driving back from a party, they accidentally hit an old man called Ted who died shortly afterwards.

When Craig got involved, he risked his entire future by using his police officer role to his advantage, and save Faye and Emma from prison.

So, Kit knows that Craig is hiding something, but will he discover what it is?

And if he does, will he send Craig to prison?
