Coronation Street fans ‘rumble’ who’s targeting Abi – and it’s ‘not Cassie’

Coronation Street fans think they know which character is out to get Abi Franklin, and they don’t think it’s Cassie Plummer after all.

While plenty of fans of the ITV soap do still think Cassie is behind the deepfake sex tape ordeal Abi is being targeted in, others think someone else on the street is targeting her for an unknown reason. We saw drug dealer Dean protesting his innocence last week as Abi accused him of being the culprit. Abi was horrified as it appeared a sex tape from her past that she had no recollection of had been shared online.

She soon realised she’d been set up, and the person she thought was behind it was not to blame. Not only that but there were multiple videos, and it quickly emerged that they were deepfake videos, manipulated so that Abi’s face was placed over the person in the footage.

Realising someone was targeting her, Abi set out to find out who was doing it and why. One other character who faces accusations was Max Turner, who had recently been rejected for a business offer by Abi’s partner Kevin Webster.

Max had offered to redesign Kevin’s garage website but said it would cost around £1,000. He wasn’t happy after all his efforts when Kevin refused to pay him this much.

Max has been up to no good in the past, from spiking people’s drinks to being involved with an extremist group. Kevin accused Max after realising someone good with technology had to be involved, and Max refused to hand over his laptop.

Taking to X, fans speculated Max could be behind it despite having no motive. One fan posted: “I believe it was Max, he’s weird,” as another said: “I wouldn’t trust Max when you consider how messed up his real father was.”

A third fan said: “I think it’s Max uploading those deepfake videos of Abi. Remember when Kevin turned down Max’s fee to create a website for his garage? Could be a form of payback.” A further comment read: “Why wouldn’t Max just hand over his laptop and clear his name if he genuinely had nothing to hide? Just saying.”
