Coronation Street spoilers follow.
Coronation Street has given fans a new look at a hard-hitting storyline for Toyah Battersby, forced to relive her horrific attack in upcoming scenes.
As previously announced, the soap will look back on Toyah’s sexual assault story from 2001. At the time, the character played by Georgia Taylor was raped, beaten and left for dead by an unknown male attacker, later revealed to be her friend Phil Simmonds.
In fresh pictures obtained by Digital Spy, Toyah can be seen holding a spade as she is caught up digging in the park.

Corrie is set to reveal that Toyah got pregnant as a result of being raped and gave birth to a stillborn baby, who she buried in the Red Rec park.
The new sequence will see Toyah worried that the baby’s remains will be found when she hears the land is set to be dug up for development. The news forces the character to confront the consequences of those traumatic events from two decades ago.
Expected to air in upcoming episodes, the storyline hasn’t been well received by fans and former Corrie stars alike, with Vicky Entwistle, who portrayed Toyah’s mother Janice, taking to Twitter/X to voice her thoughts.
“Well we tried to make our moments as real as they could possibly be, didn’t we?! @Brucejonesnew I guess we failed,” Entwistle wrote, tagging her on-screen husband, Bruce Jones, who played Les Battersby.
