Coronation Street will air some big scenes next week – and will Joel Deering finally be exposed?
Viewers know Joel attacked Lauren and left her for dead, but his secret is yet to get out, could someone be set to expose him next week? Elsewhere, another resident finds themselves arrested for shoplifting
One Weatherfield resident decides she needs some time away from the Cobbles and flees whilst it’s a case of mixed messages when heartbroken Steve McDonald gets the wrong end of the stick about a surprise party.
Gemma arrested
Gemma Winter finds herself arrested next week when she shoplifts to get Carys the shoes she desperately needs. She takes Carys to the shoe shop to get her feet measured but when she’s told the shoes are £45, she knows she can’t afford them.
However, when the assistant is left distracted, Gemma decides to flee the shop with Carys and the shoes without paying for them. When Bernie sees the shoes, she questions how Gemma could afford them, but will Gemma tell her the truth?
Later, she finds herself arrested for stealing the shoes. Bernie begs Kit to help out and get Gemma off scot free, and he heads to the shoe shop to discuss with Bruce about the shoplifting incident. Grateful for his help, she is intrigued when Kit is keen on helping her but introduces him to both Chesney and the kids – will the truth be revealed?
Abi flees
Abi finds herself leaving Weatherfield next week when things get too much. She has been targeted in a AI deep fake plot and next week, Abi needs some time out and decides to go and stay with Lynsey and the twins.
Elsewhere, Kevin does his best to try and get Stefan to help with the deep fake videos. He tells Tyrone he’s managed to get Stefan – the father of Seb’s killer Corey – to pay for the videos to be removed, before it’s later revealed that Stefan isn’t willing to pay the £60,000 a year to get the videos taken down. What will Kevin do?
Joel exposed
Could Joel find himself exposed next week? We know he attacked and potentially murdered Lauren, but a body has yet to be found. Next week, Dee-Dee and Ed meet up with Anthea and Gus – Joel’s parents – as they head for lunch in the bistro.

Steve’s heartbroken
It’s a case of the wrong end of the stick on Coronation Street next week for Steve. Tim wants a night out with his good friend to celebrate his fiftieth birthday but their plans go awry when Sally tells Tim about the unveiling of a bronze bust of Tommy Orpington, who viewers will know took Steve’s wife Tracy Barlow and ran off to Spain.
However, things go from bad to worse when Tim tells Steve he can’t make it – but refuses to say why, leading Steve convinced there is a special surprise party in the works. His thoughts are only compounded when Sally and Tim discuss new outfits.
Amy tells Steve that Tracy has cancelled her planned return to the UK and he is secretly gutted, as his plan to win her back is no longer able to work. When he quizzes Cassie, Kevin and Tyrone about his surprise party, they all deny knowledge of it and he’s convinced they’re lying – but will the truth come out about Tim’s real reason for missing the night out?
