Mulvin has shared that the intensity of these scenes was unlike anything she has experienced before. She described the filming process as deeply unsettling. “I’ve never filmed anything like this,” Mulvin admitted. “It was an incredibly surreal experience. I chose not to wear the blindfold until we were actually shooting because I wanted to capture that raw sense of discomfort. When you repeat a scene too often, it can become almost too comfortable, losing its impact. Even during rehearsals, it felt off because it’s so unnatural to walk into a room and stand in the middle of a circle while being shouted at.”

When the cameras rolled, the emotions felt very real to Mulvin. “I ended up crying as Amy, but it wasn’t just acting; it felt genuine because you’re disoriented, you don’t know where you are, and you can’t recognize the voices around you. It’s designed to make Amy feel as vulnerable and uneasy as possible. Rowan uses this to break her down so that she becomes more dependent on him,” she explained.

This emotionally charged storyline might signal a pivotal shift in The Initiative arc, especially with Tracy’s character stepping up to confront Rowan. Tracy’s involvement brings a new layer of tension, as she is determined to take Rowan down, and she’s not someone to be underestimated.
