Actress Sair Khan lives a very different life off-screen from troubled businesswoman Alya Nazir.
The former Coronation Street star, 36, exited the ITV soap earlier this week after 10 years to go on maternity leave and welcome her baby boy with her partner Nathan Chilton. The couple have since shared their joy in becoming parents and posted their new arrival on social media, calling their little son ‘marvellous’ and ‘curious about the world’.
Sair first joined the cast of Corrie back in 2014 and has been part of some of the soap’s biggest storylines since – from leaving her coercive and controlling husband Geoff to pursuing a court case against him. But away from the cameras, the mum-of-one has been far luckier in love. Here, we take a look at her life off-screen…
The actress previously dated actor Simon Lennon, whom she met at a gala to celebrate 60 years of the National Youth Theatre. At the time, she opened up about meeting her former beau: “A load of ex-members were invited to that evening at Buckingham Palace, so we met through a mutual friend that he’s in Our Girl with. Sadly, the Queen wasn’t there.”
Simon, who has starred in Our Girl and Emmerdale, was waiting for Sair on the Australian bridge when she took part in I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! in 2018. Sair was the third celeb to be eliminated. A year later, she split from Simon after their relationship reportedly crumbled due to conflicting work commitments.
