Coronation Street star Samia Longchambon has revealed that she suffered a painful ankle injury.
The actor, who plays Maria Connor in the soap, shared on her social media that she hurt herself while at a photoshoot.
On her Instagram story, she posted a photo of her nursing her injured ankle with an ice pack while at work, with the caption: “Fell over and sprained my ankle just before a photoshoot.. Smiled (grimaced) my way through today..”
In the post, Longchambon thanked those who were present at the photoshoot and looked after her when she suffered her injury.
She also mentioned her co-star Jodie Prenger, who plays Glenda Shuttleworth in the show, and owns the eye mask that she used to keep her ice pack in place on her ankle.
“Sorry! Pinched your eye mask to hold the ice pack on @msjodieprenger,” she wrote on the same story post.
The actor later shared another Instagram story of her sitting in her garden, with her injured ankle elevated and bandaged, and wrote “resting”, alongside a praying emoji.
Longchambon is currently involved in a big storyline on Corrie, surrounding her son Liam’s mental health following his bullying ordeal.
In February, she spoke to Digital Spy about her connection to the emotional storyline, and shared her advice for those who were experiencing something similar to Liam.
She said: “If I’m completely honest, I was bullied throughout my childhood at different times, I was bullied a little bit in primary school, and then I was bullied at high school as well. So I can go off how it was for me.
“I think that it’s important to talk to people, to not bottle things up, and to tell someone. You know, as much as people are scared of being a snitch, or that kind of stigma attached to that, the bigger picture is that you need to tell an adult, you need to tell your friends, you need to just keep talking.”
