Coronation Street ‘work out’ policeman Kit’s ‘real identity’ – and he’s not Bernie’s son

CORONATION Street fans are convinced they’ve uncovered the true identity

of policeman Kit, who is supposedly Bernie’s long-lost son.

Kit Green, played by Jacob Roberts, has made some pretty morally questionable

decisions over the last few weeks, leaving soap fans with the feeling he’s hiding something big.

The corrupt copper rocked up in Weatherfield a few weeks ago and reunited with his birth mother Bernie Winter (Jane Hazlegrove).

Since then, Kit has become a regular fixture on the cobbles – but it’s not been smooth sailing with Bernie.

Showing his deep-rooted anger to his biological mum, Kit took the opportunity to blow up her life. Bernie had hoped to tell her kids, Gemma (Dolly-Rose Campbell) and Paul (Peter Ash) ,that they had a brother on her own terms, but he beat her to it.

Kit also crossed a line when he got Nathan Curtis (Christopher Harper) sent to prison for the murder of Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton). Kit planted Lauren’s DNA in paedophile Nathan’s van and framed him.

Actor Jacob previously opened up about his character Kit, saying: “I do think he is going to be a very misunderstood character at first.

“He’s been really hurt throughout his life and although he has a good heart, he has some deep-rooted resentment with his biological mum, which will be really interesting to play out.”

But as Kit has shown off his morally questionable behaviour at work too, fans are convinced he’s hiding something much more sinister.

Corrie fans believe Jacob’s character isn’t the real Kit Green at all.

On a Coronation Street Facebook fan page, one viewer theorised: “I don’t think Kit is Bernie’s son, I think he has stolen the identity of his housemate.”

Many other soap fans were quick to agree that Kit isn’t who he says he is, but they have different theories on how he stole the “real Kit’s” identity.

“Maybe her [Bernie] son was adopted by Kit’s mother, and got treated better than Kit,” said a second fan.

A third chimed in and wrote: “I agree but he is not a housemate, he is the adoptive brother.”

Is it possible Jacob’s character wants revenge for his upbringing, or to disrupt his brother’s biological parents’ life the way his was?

“So Kit’s biological parents adopted Bernie’s real son. That’s why he was at the house and knows all the history and has the surname green. Kit wants revenge for his brother and possibly the turmoil she caused his family whilst he grew up,” another viewer mused.

Agreed, a fifth fan said: “I thought that something was not right about him, definitely a twist to it.”

While a fifth posed: “Maybe had another brother who was adopted by Kit’s adoptive parents and is seeking vengeance for him?”

Is Kit hiding his true identity?
