Coronation Street spoilers follow.
Coronation Street‘s Bernie Winter will struggle with a guilty secret following Paul Foreman’s father Denny’s arrival on the cobbles.
The soap has introduced the character (played by Danny Cunningham) this week as he heads to Weatherfield after hearing his son speak on the radio about his Motor Neurone Disease (MND).
Despite Bernie’s attempts to keep him away from Paul, Denny manages to meet Paul, and his son invites him to watch a film with him. Meanwhile, Bernie secretly admits her concern to Dev Alahan that Denny may expose secrets from her past.
In new scenes set to air next Wednesday (May 8) and Friday (May 10), Billy and Paul are feeling down after meeting with the council about MND funding cuts – meaning Paul’s support group has lost its venue.
They let Bernie know that they need to find other ways to fundraise.
Later on in the week, Paul, Billy and Gemma are dead on their feet after keeping up a karaokethon all night, and praise Bernie for the top job she has done.
However, her guilty secret hangs over her, and Bernie apologises to Gemma for being a rubbish mother to her. Gemma is taken aback by the sudden change in Bernie’s mood following Denny’s arrival.
What secret is she hiding?
