Coronation Street star Colson Smith gave an update after his first day back on the cobbles following his Celebrity Big Brother success. The actor didn’t have much time between leaving the famous house and heading back to Weatherfield as he returned to work on Monday (March 25).
Colson’s first day back came after he spent three weeks in the iconic house as ITV rebooted the celebrity version of the reality series earlier this month. He entered the house alongside X Factor star Louis Walsh, broadcaster and author Fern Britton, Strictly Come Dancing star Nikita Kuzmin, theatre star Marisha Wallace and YouTube presenter Zeze Millz.
In the end, Colson, who is known for playing Craig Tinker in the ITV soap, made it to the final alongside Louis, Nikita, Fern, Heartstopper star Bradley Riches and Ibiza Weekender’s David Potts
As he returned to Corrie’s Salford-based set on Monday (March 25), Colson appeared via video link from the Rovers Return on Good Morning Britain and told hosts Susanna Reid and Richard Madeley how his time since leaving the CBB house played out and how he didn’t have the toughest day at work ahead
He said: “Literally straight out the house, slept in London, had the wrap party, into a car, script straight in front of me, ready to get back on the beat.
That being said, it appears the whirlwind between leaving CBB and heading back home to Manchester had took his toll. As he posed for a selfie at the soap’s studios in front of a faux brick wall with a ‘Coronation St’ sign attached to it, Colson said: “Nice to be back home @coronationstreet.”
But once back at his actual Manchester home, the work continued as he shared a sneak peek of his script and said: “Like I’ve never been away.” However, the 25-year-old did follow up the post with a selfie as he crashed out on the sofa and said: “Big Brother jet lag is a real thing.”
