Coronation Street’s Harriet Bibby hints at soap return as fans respond to cobbles snaps

Fans think Coronation Street star Harriet Bibby has hinted at a return to the show after being seen back on the cobbles. The actress was recently seen leaving the ITV soap as Summer Spellman, four years after taking over the role.

While it’s been weeks since she was last seen in Weatherfield, the teenage character’s plans to leave were actually revealed in February when she told her guardian Billy Mayhew she had been offered a chance to study in America. But Summer told Billy at the time that she knew it was not the right time amid his husband Paul Foreman’s diagnosis of Motor Neurone Disease.

While they agreed she should put the placement back a year, Paul found out and wasn’t on board before managing to change both of their minds. There were doubts, however, when Billy had to come clean and tell Summer about Paul’s plans to end his life when he felt the time was right.

Summer did, however, book her flight to Boston as she was reassured by Billy and Paul that she’d be the first to know of any changes to Paul’s condition. Later Billy, Paul and Todd Grimshaw bid an emotional farewell to Summer as she set off in the back of a taxi with the trio watching on with tears in their eyes.

But Harriet doesn’t seem to be too far away from the cobbles as while it’s not known how long her exit may last, she was seen at the long-running show’s set with some of her loved ones.

Last weekend, Harriet was among the ITV soap’s stars and their loved ones enjoying a ‘wellbeing day’ on the famous street over the weekend. Cast members and other members of the programme’s vast team were able to bring their nearest and dearest along to the iconic set on Sunday (May 12) where they appeared to enjoy a fun day on the iconic cobbles with picture opportunities aplenty.

Taking to Instagram with her photos, Harriet said: “Bring the family to work day,” as they were seen posing outside the iconic Rovers Return before taking a look around the newer precinct set.

@nigeldean76 wask quick to ask: “Does this mean u r returning to the cobbles soon?” while @sean.murphy.7165 said: “@harrietanneb are you back filming?” @buffybuffer1111 also added: “@harrietanneb are you coming back soon to Corrie?”
