Exclusive: Actress Cait Fitton of Coronation Street has suggested that Joel Deering, the soap villain, will soon come to “an end point” with his actions.
Actress Cait Fitton of Coronation Street has made hints that soap opera antagonist Joel Deering may soon be leaving the Cobbles due to his “terrifying” behavior. According to the actress Lauren Bolton, Lauren might live “happily ever after” because Joel would get his “comeuppance” at the “end point” of the serial opera.
At the Radio Times Soap Awards on Saturday, Cait, 22, expressed her hopes for Lauren’s happy ever after to Express.co.uk and other reporters. I think it’s quite difficult to accomplish stuff like this, which are really dramatic.
“Especially when you’re playing a subject that’s so relevant yet challenging to tackle. It’s critical to understand that you can overcome any challenge, from trauma to bereavement.”
“I would love for her to come out of the other side and see a positive ending to it because nothing defines who you are,” the ITV serial star went on. By the time this plot concludes, I hope Lauren has developed into a powerful, self-reliant lady.
“That’s why I’m playing her. Corrie is about iconic characters and empowering women, and that’s what Lauren is.”
Cait said, “Hopefully, Joel will get his comeuppance,” in response to the question. I sincerely, very hope so. When you’re a villain, I believe there’s always a conclusion.
“But I believe that females like Lauren deserve justice when creating a plot like this. in particular because grooming and exploitation are still prevalent in today’s world.”
Cait remarked of working with Joel’s actor Callum Lill, “Cal is brilliant, Cal is just a lovely human being,” as an example of their working relationship. He is, nevertheless, terrifying. He’s terrifying when he’s in “Joel mode.” Thus, I’m hoping we can defeat him.”
Speaking about her expectations for the villain’s demise, Cait stated: “I hope we can organize a girl gang and bring him down in that way, for the empowerment of women. I believe that would be very well received. People would adore that.
Cait responded, “I don’t know what’s going to happen moving forward but I really hope I’m there as long as I can be,” when questioned about how her own part would unfold. I adore it; I adore the people, the setting, and the character. It’s an incredible environment to work.”
And I think there’s a lot I could accomplish with Lauren. It’s true that you don’t always get what you see. In the long run, I hope to be able to fully immerse myself in the role and play it for as long as I desire.”
