Coronation Street‘s Leanne Battersby is set to turn against Rowan Cunliffe amid her ongoing blackmail plot.
In recent months, Leanne has fallen under the influence of the dangerous Institute and its enigmatic leader Rowan.
Last week, Amy Barlow was pulled into the cult and had to go through a “malware session”. The meeting required Amy to wear a blindfold while a circle of people shouted insults at her, based on things she confessed to Rowan in what she thought was a private session.
Following her traumatic experience, Amy is now suing the Institute to get her inheritance money back.

In upcoming episodes, Leanne will discover the secret dossier of evidence that Rowan has been building on Nick and Toyah’s affair.
The discovery culminate in Leanne summoning Nick to the Bistro, but how much does she know?
In scenes set to air next week, Nick informs Toyah that he is going to report Rowan to the police for blackmail. Nick then arrives at the police station and gives Lisa a notebook with details to back up his claims.
Meanwhile, Leanne reveals to Amy that she emailed herself the files on Rowan’s computer. Could the contents of the emails help Amy get her money back?

Jane Danson, who plays Leanne, has teased what’s in store for her character as she begins to question Rowan’s motives.
Explaining Leanne’s initial reaction to Rowan’s secret file, Danson said that the “penny just drops” and she realises that Toyah was right about Rowan’s dodgy dealings all along.
On how Rowan’s eventual unmasking will affect Leanne, the soap star added: “I would definitely say there’s trouble ahead, because you can’t go through all that and then just be okay.
“There’s got to be some scars from what she’s been through. I imagine she’ll feel a bit of a fool as well, because she’s invested in a friendship that she thought was real and that will obviously have some sort of psychological effect later.”
