Coronation Street star Sair Khan has announced the birth of her child.
The actor, who has played Alya Nazir in Corrie since 2014, shared the wonderful news of her son’s arrival on Instagram on Wednesday (May 9).
“He’s here,” Sair wrote.
Sair explained in her post that the birthing process took 22 hours in total, but celebrated that her son is already “super strong and so resilient”.
“And since then we’ve been non stop trying to figure out latches and vomit and tears all while dealing with sleep deprivation and the small issue of trying to heal my own body too. Massive respect to all the new Mama’s and Dad’s trying to get through those first few days and weeks.”
She paid tribute to her partner Nathan Chilton and their “incredible support network”, before adding that she wanted to get back to “the cuteness, cuddles and intoxicating new baby smell that are making it all worthwhile”.
The arrival of Sair’s son comes only one day after her temporary exit from Coronation Street aired on ITV1 on Wednesday (May 8).
