Coronation Street’s Sam and Roy have friendship blocked amid ‘murder’ plot

Coronation Street spoilers follow.

Sam Blakeman and Roy Cropper’s friendship will be blocked on Coronation Street amidst the ongoing murder storyline.

Roy has been on the receiving end of abuse in recent weeks after he became the main suspect in the investigation regarding Lauren Bolton’s disappearance and presumed death, with the figure striving to prove his innocence.

Sam has continued to talk to Roy throughout the debacle, but next week’s scenes will see a change as the situation grows ever more dangerous for Roy.

At the beginning of the week, Roy receives a phone call where he is subjected to a tirade of abuse from figures who think him guilty, with the words clearly getting to him as he retreats upstairs.

Nick and Shona talk about both the verbal and physical abuse that has been aimed at Roy, with the pair having sympathy despite harbouring concerns about how close Sam is to the accused.

This comes to a head as Sam asks to see Roy, but Nick puts his foot down by explaining that it isn’t a good idea given the current situation.

Sam subsequently ignores these orders and sees Roy anyway as they play a game of chess, with Sam having to lie to Shona to get his wish.

Later in the week, Nick doubles down on his earlier statement about Sam staying away from Roy until the situation is cleared, and makes his way to Roy to explain his stance.

Nick calls in at the café with Sam to apologise to Roy before setting some boundaries, with Roy understanding that Nick is merely looking out for his son.
