Coronation Street’s Simon Gregson has received messages of support from fans after he said he is “so proud” in a new update.
The Steve McDonald actor, 49, is a household name thanks to having appeared in the long-running ITV programme for more than thirty years. He also recently came second in I’m a Celebrity… Get Me out of Here!
On Thursday he shared a video where he filmed himself putting on a hat as he said: “I am very proud to be supporting Wear A Hat Day for Brain Tumour Awareness Month and Brain Tumour Research”. He then urged fans to donate.
Captioning the post, he said: “So proud to support #WearAHatDay for Brain Tumour Awareness Month and @braintumourrsch. For those affected by brain tumours and those we have lost. Please donate by clicking the link. Every little help.”
Fans have been quick to respond in the comments section. Anne said: “Well done, such a good cause. I had a brain tumour, it was removed in 2010. I was one of the lucky ones, I pray for all those who are suffering”.
Dessie said: “Fantastic you’re a gentleman” and Helen said: “Thank you it has touched so many people’s families. And so heart-breaking.” Sandra said: “Respect”.
