Coronation Street star Sue Cleaver has been flooded with messages of praise as she told fans ‘that’s a wrap!’ The actress is famed for playing Eileen Grimshaw in the long-running show.
The character made her debut in the role in May 2000, with her first scenes alongside Emmerdale star Chris Bisson, who played Vikram Desai. However, it wasn’t her first role in the ITV soap as five years before she had played a hospital nurse who was present when Daniel Osbourne was born.
But away from the cobbles, fans have recently seen Sue taking part in I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here and appear on Loose Women as a guest panellist. However, she has recently been seen another role that is a far cry from her Weatherfield character and usual persona on the aforementioned shows
The soap star has been performing in the Olivier Award-nominated production of Sister Act The Musical as she swapped the Rovers for rosary beads by playing Mother Superior in the UK and Ireland tour, including a stint at Manchester Palace Theatre back in March.
But as the saying goes, all good things must come to an end and Sue has officially finished her short stint as Mother Superior and marked the moment on social media. She took to Instagram with a snap of herself which showed her standing on the stage in the empty auditorium with her back to the camera. Sue said: “That’s a wrap on @sisteractsocial – I’ve had the best experience & made memories to last a lifetime… A huge thankyou to everyone involved, you’re the best. #musical #theatre #touring #sisteractthemusical.” And her fans and followers were quick to respond. @louiseannefowler said: “You were fantastic!!! We came to see it to celebrate our silver wedding anniversary!!” @nickymichelle89 commented: “My daughter and I came this afternoon. You and the cast were AMAZING we loved it.”
