Coronation Street‘s Tina O’Brien will not miss any filming, following reports of an “unprovoked incident” that happened outside her home.
A video obtained by The Sun showed a woman believed to be O’Brien involved in a scuffle with multiple girls in a Greater Manchester suburb, after trying to break up a fight.
Contrary to reports of a “crisis meeting” between O’Brien and Corrie bosses, Digital Spy understands that O’Brien will not miss any filming following the incident, nor have there been any crisis talks with producers.
A representative for the soap star, who plays Sarah Barlow, issued a statement reading: “Tina was the victim of an unprovoked incident outside her home which she has reported to the police.”
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police added: “Officers are investigating reports of an assault in Stockport between 8pm and 9pm on 15 March.”
Meanwhile, a parent of one of the girls who appeared to be defended by O’Brien described the star as “pretty brave” for trying to intervene.
“Tina has been pretty brave in stepping in,” she told The Sun. “Tina is only little herself and she was defending my daughter, so I am extremely grateful to her.”
On screen, Sarah Barlow is currently at the centre of a love triangle with Damon Hay and Adam Barlow.
Sarah and Damon have been looking into buying their dream home, but recent scenes have seen Damon secretly getting involved in Harvey Gaskell’s robbery scheme after Harvey threatened Sarah’s life.
