Corrie’s Beth Tinker is set to wave goodbye to Weatherfield – and fans have now ‘worked out’ her devastating exit storyline.
Beth (played by Lisa George) has been stirring up drama on the cobbles since 2011 with her busybody ways and no-nonsense banter, quickly securing a spot in the hearts of Corrie enthusiasts.
She’s been at the centre of some hefty plots, from the heart-wrenching demise of her niece Sinead Tinker (portrayed by Katie McGlynn) to her rollercoaster romance with Kirk Sutherland (Andy Whyment).
But whispers started swirling last year that Lisa was bidding adieu to the Street, with a “dramatic” departure plot slated for this summer.
Despite Lisa hinting at a new contract not long ago, The Sun spilled the beans in June that she’d wrapped up filming and even threw a leaving bash with her Corrie mates, reports the Express.
As her final scenes loom, the soap’s eagle-eyed fans reckon they’ve sussed out how Beth will make her dramatic exit. This week’s episodes saw Beth boiling over with rage at Carla Connor (Alison King) for giving work experience kid Betsy Swain (Sydney Martin) free rein.
Little does Beth know, Carla’s being strong-armed by the teen after she witnessed Carla decking a thug who was troubling her mate Roy Cropper (David Neilson).
The plot thickens when Betsy tails Beth into the factory after hours and catches her red-handed nicking stock.
Viewers believe this may signal the start of her departure from the show, with the possibility of a prison sentence for Beth. In response to this speculation, one of the viewers commented on X: “Is this Beth’s exit storyline then? Gets caught making hooky gear?”
Another echoed similar sentiments: “Is this Beth’s exit storyline FINALLY starting? ” Yet another speculated: “Is Beth gonna leave the show in a prison cell? “.
